Thank you for sharing such kind words with us!
When my husband and best friend of 22 years passed away after a devastating illness, my life was shattered. We were at a crossroad of our lives; my children about to graduate from high school and go to college and my career at a critical decision point. There was not much time to grieve or fully process what had happened. We went through the motions to follow his wishes to be cremated and have his... ashes scattered where he spent some of the happiest times of his life and where we met. Time passed, I took on a new job in a different city. His cremains gathered dust on a shelf, we had not been able to coordinate our lives to scatter his ashes. My daughter learned about Laura Beth’s idea to make glass art using cremains. We contacted Laura Beth and were appreciative of her deep understanding and sensibilities of our grief. When she showed us the beautiful objects she had created with the cremains, we were deeply moved. My daughter and I had to smile at the thought that he would have loved to see the art objects Laura Beth had created as he had a great appreciation of art. I chose a deep sea blue pendant with his ashes floating like white foam in it and have been wearing it ever since. He now follows me around the world, wherever I travel and has become a conversation point. Read More
As most people dealing with loss I was in a terrible place after my mom passed away. I did know what to do, we honored her wishes and she was cremated... but the idea of her being dusty and inside an urn was sad. My mom was an amazing person and always brightened any room she entered. When I came across the scattered glass website I fell in love with the idea of my mother being sparkly again.... Laura Beth was a joy to work with, she helped me focus on an option, explained the process fully and lovingly took care of my mom’s cremains. We had a memorial service the year after she passed away and I handed out Mary Beads to the attendants. Some people carry her around on their keys, Some people dropped their bead off at a place where they remember my mom (she’s in the Hudson Bay), some wove her into wind chimes. I personally kept a vivacious red bead and I wear it every day around my neck. I love my beads and I’m so glad I memorialized her in glass sparkling again for everyone to enjoy. When I came across the scattered glass website I fell in love with the idea on my mother being sparkly again. Words cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for Laura Beth's artwork. When my father passed away, my family, like many others, went through the motions and were left with his ashes. In our grief, we never properly memorialized him. Years later, we reached out to Laura Beth for customized pieces. Laura Beth was so incredibly kind, thoughtful, and understanding. We ordered multiple pieces t... o share with family members. Each is so beautiful and well crafted. It may seem strange to some, but I have personally found solace in being able to carry a piece of my father with me, especially when I have needed him most. Laura Beth isn't just an artist, she truly understands the grieving process. She very respectfully asked me questions about my father, helping me to process grief in a way I didn't realize I needed, and to find peace. We shared laughs over the stories and her genuine and respectful curiosity allowed me to celebrate and remember my father in a new way. Thank you, Laura Beth. Read More
